"Nostalgic" Christmas pillow!

I've noticed a "nostalgic" theme in some of the holiday decor I've come across this season.

{felted animals and pillow, target.com}

{yule mugs, crateandbarrel.com}

It reminds me of A Christmas Story meets Norman Rockwell.  And frankly, anything that reminds me of Scut Farkus or a frozen flag pole is welcome in my home.

So, imagine my delight when I came across a cute little hand towel with this "nostalgic" image printed on the front.
I found it at TJ Maxx for $2.99.

And of course, you know what I had to make out of it...
The most awesome Christmas pillow ever.  Bam!

I threw on some red pom pom's.

And made a coordinating red and green plaid pillow out of two, cloth napkins {because you know how much I love plaid}.

And we were set...it was a set...of pillows.
And you can find yourself the lucky owner of this fabulous set of pillows should you enter my giveaway and win.  Don't forget the free Kensie product {of your choosing} that you will win as well.  My giveaway ends tonight so hurry up and enter.

I know I said I would announce the winner on Wednesday, but I've decided to announce it Tuesday...tomorrow, instead.  So, stay tuned.

Make it Monday...fun, festive, fall inspired pillows from $4 dish towels.

All righty.
Time for two of my very most favorite things ever...throw pillows and Fall...well, Halloween technically.

So, in lieu of my Fall fever, I've decided to dedicate today's Make it Monday post to...Halloween!

The other day whilst wandering around TJ Maxx I came across these...

A super chic set of Halloween dish towels for under $4.
I knew right away they would make the perfect Halloween throw pillows.

They were extremely cheap {about $2 a piece} and super quick and easy to make...my favorite kind of project.

I resorted to another one of my past Make it Monday projects...DIY pom pom's!  I wasn't kidding about a Pompocalypse.  They are seriously addicting.  Just know once you start, you won't be able to stop.  There will be pom pom's everywhere.  AHHHH.

Well, if you love Halloween as much I, today is your lucky day.  In addition to a free Kensie product of your choosing for my giveaway, I will also be giving away this set of Halloween pillows to the lucky winner.  Yes, BOTH pillows.  It doesn't get any better than that right...unless, Edward the vampire {or Jacob for you wolfies} hand delivered them himself.

So, if you haven't entered my giveaway yet, now's the time...only a few hours left.

And, no worries if you don't win...just run out to your closest TJ Maxx and grab some towels and make your own.  You'll be the envy of book club for sure.

Fabulous Find Friday- Kensie...and a giveaway.

My fabulous find for this week is a clothing/accessory company called Kensie.
Now, I know this is a DIY/Home decorating blog and you are probably wondering what the heck I'm doing posting about fashion and clothing.  Well, I'll tell you this, clothing and fashion go hand in hand.  Many of the same design trends you find in fashion are also present in interior design.

As a matter of fact, I often turn to fashion for inspiration.  When I'm in a design rut and can't decide on a color scheme or what patterns I like, I look to my own closet and fashion magazines for a little guidance.

I recently learned about a new clothing/accessory company called Kensie.  Maybe some of you are familiar with the name.  I wasn't.  Apparently, I've been hiding under a rock somewhere.
Any who, Kensie is a globally recognized brand.  Their clothing and accessories have been featured in Marie Claire, InStyle and Glamour magazines and also on my favorite, guilty pleasure show {Pretty Little Liars}.

I'm an accessories gal, and I totally fell in love with their jewelry...especially these two sets of earrings.

These {gold, hexagon earrings} encompass two of my favorite interior design elements...gold and, well, hexagons.

gold hex towel rack from Urban Outfitters

I am super in love with these {beaded, color blocked earrings}.

Color blocked curtains from MarthaStewart.com

Color block pillow from zazzle.com

See color blocking isn't just for curtains and pillows.

I also spotted a sweet gold bracelet with arrow detail and wishbone pendant necklace {who doesn't love anything turkey related?}.  They have so many chic accessory and clothing items available it's almost impossible to choose.

Well, friends.  I am happy to share the wealth of my new find with you.
Kensie has agreed to give one lucky reader a product {of your choosing} from their line.

The giveaway is now open and will close Tuesday, September 3rd .  A winner will be announced Wednesday, September 4th...which also happens to be my birthday.  And to celebrate, I will include a special birthday gift from me to you, of one of my favorite things...check back Monday to see what it is.

All righty, time to win some free stuff...and go!
